Deco Inspiration.
This is an ongoing search for images that I like to inform Art Deco inspired pieces. When I was a kid I used to stay with my grandmother Emily in Potts Point, in a wonderful apartment building called the Macleay Regis. Weekends were spent pottering around the Cross, chatting with all the hawkers who knew my grandmother, as she went for her daily walks along the notorious strip. We would eat at Mrs Beeton and then stroll up the strip for ice cream, my grandmother with her cane and myself wide eyed at the colour and crowds.
Alumnae.
I have been blessed to have the most wonderful jewellers come to work with me and I check in with them from time to time to see what they are up to. Here is an update.
Kristina Brenke was the first assistant I hired on my return fom Los Angeles After leaving us, Kristina worked at Jan Logan before creating her own label. We currently stock a small selection of her wonderful contemporary designs. (Pictured below Kristina Brenke ‘Whimsy Ring’)
Luke Rose, a super talented UK jeweller took over Kristina’s post, and returned to the UK to set up his own design business.
Sabine Roemer, left us to return to the UK and was named one of the UK’s Hot 100 designers in 2010.
Elisabeth Gerl is a recent goldsmith graduate from Germany, and the girl has mad skills. She work here in 2010 and has returned to Germany to work on her own collection.
Merry Christmas!
Pyrrha.
We have just recieved a bigger selection of the delightful Pyrrha initial pendants ($210 each). Also from Pyrrha, we have more of the ever so popular talisman necklaces. Made from reclaimed sterling silver or gold, each necklace is cast from a 19th century wax seal and is rich with meaning. The perfect Christmas gift!
Christmas is two weeks away!

Inspiration.
People ask me where I get my inspiration from. One of my latest sources is the wonderful Saskia Havekes from Grandiflora. She lent me a wondeful book by German photographer Karl Blossfedt. I find his images really inspiring.
